Third-party and published data in optmat

optmat is a scientific library. Its purpose is to make published optical data of
materials traceable and usable in research. To be self-contained, so that it works
offline and gives reproducible results, it ships data that third parties published:

- the values transcribed from published papers, books, data sheets and data services
into src/optmat/data/values/, each with its source record in
  src/optmat/data/sources/ naming the publication, the table and the page;
- the files copied unchanged into src/optmat/data/external/, each directory with a
PROVENANCE.md naming the publisher, the source, the date of retrieval, the citation
the publisher asks for, and the terms of use the publisher states, or that it states
  none.

optmat's authors claim no rights in these data, and optmat's MIT licence does not
apply to them. Where a publisher states terms, they apply and are recorded in the
PROVENANCE.md or the source record. Where none are stated, the data are included in
good faith, for non-commercial scientific research and in the spirit of fair use for
scholarship: each value is cited to its origin, only what the library's models and
tests use is included, and the data are reproduced so that the published results can
be checked, not to substitute for the original publications.

If you reuse these data outside optmat, cite the original source, as its record says,
and follow its publisher's terms.

Rights holders: if you object to the inclusion of your data, or require particular
terms for its distribution, please open an issue at
https://github.com/LupoLab/optmat/issues or write to the maintainer at the address in
the package metadata. We will respect your terms, including by removing the data.
